Privacy policy

This policy explains what information asteriris signs collects, how it's used, and who it's shared with. We built this product to be simple and low-friction, and that same principle applies here: we collect the minimum needed to make the service work, and nothing more.

Who this applies to

This policy covers the asteriris signs public website and invite form, the asteriris signs web dashboard (account.html, admin.html, and related pages), the asteriris signs Android app, and any web-based TV setup pages.

Information we collect

• Account information: the email address you use to log in, provided when your organization invites you. We do not collect your phone number or physical address unless you choose to give it to us directly.
• Demo-request information: if you request a demo through our public site, we collect the name, email address, organization, organization type, approximate screen count, device information, and any optional notes you submit so we can respond to your request.
• Content you upload: images, videos, and GIFs you upload are stored (via our media hosting provider, Cloudinary) so they can be displayed on your screens, along with the names, schedules, and descriptions you give them. As the service operator, we can access this content as needed to provide support or troubleshoot a display issue — we don't use it for any other purpose.
• Screen information: the names you give your screens and the configuration used to connect a physical TV or streaming device to your account.
• Basic technical information: standard web request information (such as IP address and browser type) automatically logged by our hosting provider for security and reliability. We don't use this for tracking or advertising.

What we do not collect

• We do not use advertising trackers or sell information to advertisers or data brokers.
• We do not collect information from the general public who simply view your screens/TVs. We collect information from people who request an invite or log in to manage content.
• Our Android app does not request access to contacts, location, camera, microphone, or any personal data on the device it's installed on. It only requests internet access and the ability to relaunch itself after the device restarts.

How we use this information

• To operate the service — displaying your content on the screens you choose, on the schedule you set.
• To authenticate you when you log in.
• To communicate with you about your account, such as password resets or important service updates.
• To improve reliability and fix problems, using basic technical logs.

Third-party services we use

We rely on a small number of established infrastructure providers to run the service:

• Cloudflare — hosts and securely delivers our websites and application routes, and provides standard security and reliability logs.
• Supabase — provides account authentication and stores organization membership, playlist, screen, and scheduling data.
• Cloudinary — stores the images, videos, and GIFs you upload.
• Resend — delivers messages submitted through our public demo-request, support, and general-question forms.

We do not share your information with any party beyond what's needed to operate the service through these providers.

Data retention

We keep your account and content data for as long as your organization has an active account with us. If you'd like your data deleted, contact us and we'll remove it, other than what we're legally required to retain.

Children's privacy

asteriris signs is a business tool intended for use by organizations and their staff. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify account holders directly.
