What stage is asteriris signs in?

asteriris signs is preparing a limited pilot. We're currently working with our first customer to get the details right before opening this up more broadly. Pricing isn't finalized yet — if you request a demo, we'll talk through what makes sense for your organization directly.

What does setup include?

During beta, we provide direct, hands-on setup. For Android/Google TV devices, that can include a preloaded device shipped to you, ready to plug in. For compatible smart TVs with a built-in browser, we'll guide you through connecting your existing screen. Either way, your account is prepared, and we'll help you get your first playlist on screen.

What TVs and devices are supported?

Android / Google TV streaming devices — including Onn Google TV devices — run our app directly. During beta we install it for you.

Compatible smart TVs with a built-in web browser — sign in through your organization's site, choose "Display a playlist," and open it. The playlist plays while the browser remains open; full-screen availability depends on your TV. Browser support varies by TV model; on the model we've tested (LG's built-in browser), playback worked but the TV's own screensaver appeared after about 30 minutes. We recommend an Android/Google TV streaming device for unattended, all-day signage until we've confirmed longer reliability on more browser models.

Samsung and LG smart TVs run their own operating systems (Tizen and webOS) that can't run Android apps directly. For these, we recommend plugging in an inexpensive Android/Google TV streaming device via HDMI — the same simple setup as our other supported devices, and it works great alongside a Samsung or LG TV's existing features.

Do I need technical skills to use it?

No. If you can post on social media, you can manage your screens.

What if my Wi-Fi goes down?

Screens need an internet connection to receive updates. Offline playback and reconnect behavior are planned improvements; during beta, we'll recommend the most reliable setup for your location.

Can different TVs show different things?

Yes. Give each TV a named screen, such as Lobby, Cafeteria, or Gym, then assign the playlist that screen should display.

How is this different from other signage software?

Most signage platforms are built for enterprise IT teams. asteriris signs is built so a non-technical office manager can set it up and run it without help.
